Right to Risk producer honored for contributions to disabled community

Kathleen Jo Ryan, producer of the APT Worldwide documentary Right to Risk: A 15 Day Journey through Arizona's Grand Canyon, was recently honored — along with writer/director John Ryan — with the Secretary of Health and Human Services' Highest Recognition Award for her contributions to the disabled community. In presenting the award, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services praised the manner in which Right to Risk showcases the "inherent abilities, purpose, and dreams of persons with disabilities."

Right to Risk: A 15 Day Journey through Arizona's Grand Canyon (1x60), is the life-affirming story of a group of men and women – all of whom live with significant disabilities, including blindness, cerebral palsy, paraplegia, quadriplegia, spina bifida and multiple sclerosis – who chose to tackle a 225-mile rafting expedition through Arizona's magnificent Grand Canyon.
