BOSTON, Massachusetts (April 9, 2004): APT Worldwide's Vice President of International Sales Joan Cavanagh, returned to the United States this week from MIPTV with renewed energy. APT Worldwide, a returning exhibitor, was flooded with visitors throughout the five-day market in Cannes. Cavanagh noticed an increased interest in the licensing of HD programming, demand for DVD content, rebounding of interactive television and anticipated channel launches.

"Overall, MIP this year had a more 'upward and onward' spirit about it than the markets have had in the last two or three years" reported Cavanagh. "New channel launches, the incredible demand for DVD-friendly content along with more optimistic players all the way around, it seems to me that the business is not only back but back with a healthy vengeance."

Several of APT Worldwide's titles sparked interest among buyers, including Perfect Illusions: Eating Disorders and the Family, a unique and compelling look at how families respond to children with anorexia and bulimia; Cosmic Journey which tells the story of the Voyager space missions to beam back spectacular images from the outer reaches of our galaxy; and Manhood and Violence: Fatal Peril, a new title, which looks at an innovative prison program that teaches violent offenders non-violent ways to respond to provocation.

Many visitors to the APT Worldwide booth were seeking High Definition programming and two titles drew special attention. Smart Travels – Europe with Rudy Maxa, now in its third season, takes viewers on a whirlwind journey of Europe's secret places and best travel finds. The Desert Speaks, also filmed in High Definition, is a fascinating exploration of the people, plants and animals that live in deserts throughout the world.
