APT WORLDWIDE TO REPRESENT DOC ON TEDDY TUCKER, WORLD’S GREATEST SHIPWRECK DIVER

PRESS RELEASE

Boston, Mass. (Monday, December 12, 2005) - APT Worldwide, the international sales division of U.S. public television distributor American Public Television, has secured international representation rights for the one-hour, high definition documentary, TEDDY TUCKER: ADVENTURE IS MY LIFE. Produced by the New England Aquarium and the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute, the film profiles the amazing exploits of Teddy Tucker, the world’s greatest shipwreck diver and the inspiration for Peter Benchley’s novel, The Deep.

One of the true pioneers of marine exploration, Teddy Tucker has been exploring the ocean's buried treasures since the late 1940’s. In more than six decades at sea, he has discovered over 125 historic shipwrecks, uncovering finds that included ancient coins, gold bars, weaponry and the single most valuable piece of sunken treasure in the New World, the emerald-covered Tucker Cross.

“Tucker virtually created the entire study of underwater archaeology,” says Judy Barlow, APT’s vice president of business development. “His contributions have been enormous, and the story of his life is filled with wonderful anecdotes and amazing underwater adventures.”

Narrated by Benchley (Jaws), TEDDY TUCKER: ADVENTURE IS MY LIFE highlights why Tucker is considered to be one of diving world's most colorful and accomplished heroes. Featuring gorgeous underwater photography, the high definition documentary is a stunning look at the ocean riches that await those explorers courageous enough to pursue them.

New England Aquarium
