JAMIE HAINES PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNICATIONS AT AMERICAN PUBLIC TELEVISION

BOSTON (Jan. 11, 2010) -- American Public Television (APT), the leading distributor of lifestyle programs for public television, announced that Jamie Haines, APR has been promoted to the position of Vice President, Communications effective Jan. 10, 2010. Haines had served as Director of Communications at APT since 2007.

“During the past two years, Jamie has added tremendous professionalism, experience, energy and innovation to the leadership of the Communications department,” Cynthia Fenneman, the President and CEO of American Public Television (APT), said. “Her wealth and breadth of communications experience has strongly benefited our company.”

Haines will oversee communications efforts for APT and its various outlets and assets including the digital channels Create and World. Before joining APT, Haines served as Director of Public Affairs at the National Fire Protection Association, the Communications Manager at the American Red Cross, the Vice President for Marketing at Plimoth Plantation, and, most recently, Director for National Promotion at WGBH in Boston.

“It is rare to find someone with such in-depth and broad experience in his or her field,” Fenneman added.

Haines has been the recipient of numerous communications awards and has held several Chair and President positions for local, regional and national trade associations.
