(Boston, Mass (October 6, 2004): APT Syndication has licensed public television distribution rights from DDE for the two-part documentary, PANAMA CANAL: THE EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD.

Produced by Roundabout Productions Inc. and narrated by actor Dennis Quaid., this special presents the epic history of the Panama Canal through archive film footage, dramatic recreations and interviews with children and grandchildren of Canal workers. After its completion in 1914, this 40-mile chain of deep channels, thousand-foot locks and man-made lakes stretched over the Continental Divide from sea to sea. The story of the building of the Panama Canal is one of power, personality, technology, political deception and the tragic death of thousands.

The documentary (which originally aired on The Discovery Channel) will debut on public television stations beginning December 1, 2004. This two-part special was licensed to APT Syndication by DDE, a leading documentary distribution company based in Washington, DC.

APT Syndication searches out and secures programs appropriate for public television and sells them to interested stations in the United States. This service acquires most genres: documentary series and specials, dramas, comedies, performances, feature film packages and more. APT Syndication currently distributes more than 250 titles.
